At the Halswell Scout Group we are pleased to offer our hall to the local and wider community for events, such as children’s birthdays, community groups, reunions and meetings
Our main hall is approximately 13m x 8m with a linoleum floor, with two heat-pumps, and a smaller 6m x 8m carpeted breakout/meeting room, also fitted with a heat-pump. Approximately 15 tables of varying sizes and 100 chairs are available. The den also has kitchen facilities with oven, microwave and hot water zip, along with a pair of toilets. The den is situated in Halswell Domain and has plenty of space outside, including a car park.
Please note, we use the hall ourselves on most week day evenings (except Fridays) during the school term. Outside of those hours, and during school holidays, the hall can be booked at any time, although we do have some regular clients. Prices are as follows (subject to change without notice):
Booking rates:
- $20.00 for the first hour or part thereof
- $15.00 per additional hour or part thereof
- Other rates may be applicable depending on your booking
- $50 bond to be returned if hall fully cleaned / rubbish removed
Optional extras:
- Rubbish bin hire: $40

Terms and Conditions of Hire
- We do not normally accept bookings for activities involving alcohol however this may be negotiated with the Booking Coordinator in conjunction with the Group Leader where there is a clear link to the group and/or with references. Additional Ts & Cs may apply
- Reservations can be made via the Bookings Coordinator of the Halswell Scout Group, or delegate, acting on behalf of the Group Leader
- Bookings will only be held for two weeks, and if there is no further contact from the event organiser then they will be automatically cancelled
- Payment must be made in full to confirm the booking
- If the event organiser cancels the booking after payment is made, a 50% refund will be given
- We reserve the right to cancel or decline any booking
- Prices are subject to change without notice
Use of Premises
- You agree not to use the Den for any other purpose than that specified in the hire agreement. This includes the immediate surrounding area
- You are liable for all costs incurred if the Den or anything inside the Den is damaged. This includes the immediate surrounding area
- The Den must be left clean and tidy
- All chairs, tables, and any other items used must be returned to their original positions, in a clean and tidy state
- If you have an evening event, you must be finished by 12am, however you may return the next day for clean up with approval from the Bookings Coordinator
- There is NO smoking inside the Den
- Crepe paper decorations are not to be used
- If you are wanting us to dispose of your rubbish, you may use our bins (we have two large bins) at a cost of $40, this is to be agreed upon at the time of booking
